Kelowna – “Both the deals with “accepted” offers had just collapsed due to “financing”.

“We went to go see houses in Kelowna over the weekend. We saw eight homes – two with “accepted” offers… one our agent showed us, the other was an open house we just happened to walk by… Anyway, we got a call from our agent – both with “accepted” offers had just collapsed due to “financing” issues.”

Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

  2. Carioca Canuck

Seen a few ripped off SOLD stickers here in Calgary in the last month or so as well.

  3. Financing subjects are notorious for allowing buyers to renege with little scrutiny.

  4. Maybe, just maybe banks are actually scrutinizing mortgage applications for a change, and are actually beginning to turn people down. What a novel concept but one that will take firm root as all banks worldwide are shaken to their foundations by LIBOR and the rest of the frauds the banks have engaged in the past decade or longer. Canadian banks are no sounder than Spanish banks; just a matter of time before this fact becomes mainstream knowledge. What it will then do to Canadian business and Canadian RE is something we would rather not think about too much at the present time. That time will be upon us soon enough!

No offense to Canadians (I am a Canadian myself) but most of the jingoism about “we’re different and better” is misplaced and not true. Be it banks or anything else. Hardly…and the rest of the world is mostly indifferent. Not hated but indifferent.

I have lived in Asia, Europe and US and say this with a certain conviction. The million dollars “shacks” are a joke. So is the self proclaimed BPOE

      • I think Biggest Scam On Earth might be more valid. I should write a letter to Christy Clarke requesting they change it.

      • The places on earth that really are the best, yell at each other to shut up about it because they don’t want to ruin it.

  5. Place in vancouver I sold back in March had the deal fall through SEVERAL times due to financing. And as far as I can tell, it truly was due to financing – these are buyers that thought they were approved and really wanted to complete the deal but couldn’t.
