Rumor that some OV units will be reduced by 20%.

“I’ve just had a re-freshing chat with that realtor who’s selling an investor-held unit in the Olympic Village. He told me that Rennie has applied to the City to have certain, hand-picked units at the OV reduced by 20%. This guy is very straightforward and has insight into how investor bulk buying works.”

This would not surprise me, it’s a great ghost town within a major city without the mass of crime associated with vacant areas in other downtown cities.

They’ve just finished construction on a number of buildings facing onto I believe 2nd there, who is going to live in those?

    20%? Yawn.

  3. Just as an FYI you should probably drive through OV. It’s no longer a ghost town since the city converted a tonne of those units to rentals. Sold my downtown place in March 2012 and have been living in OV ever since.

I pass through it quite regularly, hardly the developer brochure pages of future years we now live in.

    • Has it started leaking yet?

    • Old thread I know but had to post.

I also live (rent) in the OV and you’re right, it’s no longer a ghost town. Ever since Terra, liquor store, and Urban Fare opened it’s actually quite busy now, especially on weekends.

Now having said that, the amount of new building in the area will create a glut of condos over the next few years, plus all the empty land on both sides to be developed in the future. Sure the business’s are doing better, but I wouldn’t want to own one of these condos that’s for sure.

  4. Sounds about right. I have had a fairly steep drop over the weekend, across the board. ‘Gap Down’
