“Home.. is where I want to be. But I guess I’m already there”

“I just woke from a nightmare. In it, I had a speckerfriend (a real person), come over yelling at me if I want to help make 12 million bucks. I said how? He replied building a mansion in Whistler. I face palmed and said haven’t you seen vancouverpricedrop? He’d never heard of it, I told him he would be lucky to get 8 mill in this market. A desperate look came over him, I asked how much to break even? He said 3 million, I told him I would think about it …and then I woke up !”

“We’re staying in Vancouver because we’ve got 3 sets of grandparents for the kids nearby, and neither my husband or I has much interest in BC outside of Vancouver proper. But my subconscious has something else to say: twice this past week, I’ve dreamed of the relief of packing up and moving to Toronto or Montreal.”

Misallocation of resources.
We’d be better off dreaming about flying and exploring jungles and sex and surfing and traveling and all sorts of other stuff.
As we all already know, RE has invaded our collective psyche.
It’s part of living through a massive spec mania in housing.
Any other home/RE dream*/nightmare* stories out there?
(*The kind that happen while you’re asleep).

Woke up this morning, smiled with my rising son. Three little poops inside his diaper.
Seriously, no RE nightmares today. The osfi meds must be kicking in.
I think its only natural that many will dream about RE. After all, shelter and food are the two primary needs. Its inevitable that anyone who feels the pinch in Vancouver because of high cost of living has his subconsciousness working overtime to figure out a way to better the situation.

The MIL told my children that when you go to heaven you get a mansion that you can decorate any way you want.
RE version of the dream where you are falling into a bottomless pit
I once had a dream that I bought a farm, with a bright red barn and with large trout swimming in a clear brook.
I had a dream about visiting an open house in Vancouver, on the east side, just a regular bungalow. The price tag? $12,119,000. Everyone around seemed to think this was a reasonable price and there were plenty of offers. Of course, these days prices are that absurd, who would have thought they’d get even as high as they are?
Thats awesome. I often wondered why no sellers have a laugh and list at $1,000,000,000 bucks(yes a billion), that would attract a lot of msm attention and who knows you may actually get some offers, maybe a bidding war ?
You have to add zeroes one at a time for the people here to go along.
I had a dream about a huge storm that left most of vancouver underwater
Dreams… FaveFlix 1 of 2…
[NoteToEd: Mitigating OtherPeople's nightmares was a 'speciality'...]
Dreams… FaveFlix 2 of 2 (and by far the better story/parable)
[NoteToEd: It was what... 70 years before Guillermo del Toro could make this... and see it screened in Madrid?]
to me, the dream’s location is of special significance. It’s spiritually connected to Vancouver, but a substantial distance from the Van RE epicenter. Sort of like the connexion between the Bow Valley (Canmore/Banff) and Calgary. I don’t know what the incidence of forest fire danger lies in the path of Whistler, but in the Bow Valley it’s significant, and the latest Forest Fire hazard map is plenty red, and getting redder.

It’s the twilight, the waking dream, when reality all too often becomes clear.
Thanks for the reminder… Great find!
