(yes, they have those in the HillyBillyRiviera, too)… Apparently, the CourtOrderedSale didn’t quite work out. Never mind, DearReaders! – let’s go ‘walkies’, shall we!??
Now, look carefully and you’ll notice rebar sprouting from this lot, too – albeit they’re more like asparagus tips than the RealSteel … This partially developed/vacant lot was originally purposed for a companion dwelling to the structure visible in the background… Hmm. I wonder what it’s called – I must confess, I’m rather partial to that whole SouthWest/Pueblo thang…
Ah! They called it TheArizona!… Now that was prescient. Best of all, it isn’t just an ordinary old case of “NowSelling” – they’ve gone one better and declared it, “NowPreselling!”. I wish them luck. But here’s the thing – when Developers are compelled to go the “ComFree” route… you KNOW times are hard.
Yikes!… That is SO the biggest WeatherWane I have ever seen. I know, DearReaders – you mistook that erection for a crane on an active site. Truth be told, it hasn’t functioned as a crane in at least two years. But it does accurately indicate wind direction and I am reliably informed that it is sufficiently conspicuous to the “OnFinal” NetJetJockeys BarrellRolling in on the ApproachPath to CYYF’S RunWay16 to serve as such…
At least it’s useful.

‘Ashley’s Dream’. One almost yearns to know… who was Ashley?… The Developer’s daughter?… Their MainSqueeze??? Their MaMa? Their Commercial Loans Officer?
Or was “Ashley’sDream” merely the febrile ‘hookline’ of a Down&Out CondoHype CopyWriter struggling to make good on his tab at “TheDecoy”.
We’ll probably never know.

Oddly enough, there is a curious denouement to “Ashley’s Dream”, kc… whilst strolling past the site two days ago I was ‘accosted’ by…. Ashley!
Well. Not the Ashley – but an Ashley. Surprisingly vibrant and ‘with-it’ for a self-confessed former crack addict currently working on her [now bulging]sixth pregnancy.
Alas, there are no condo’s in AshleyWithChild’s future (nor for that matter is her dream one of HomeOwnerShip]… for apparently, she quite likes her current arrangements in a publicly funded shelter a half block from “Ashley’s Dream”. Even better, ‘WordOnTheStreet’ – according to Ashley’s cohort – is that “Ashley’s Dream” was actually abandoned because the contractor, …”built it backwards”. [It would be safe to say that Ashley's comprehension/awareness of neo-classical economic theory was minimal, at best - hence, in her cosmology the only credible explanation for a construction halt is human error in interpreting the plans.]

I was in the Okanagan recently and noticed a strange sign on a development on Lakeshore Drive in Kelowna. It said “We need you to move in so we can move on.” In huge letters. And beside it another sign “Housing prices have hit bottom. We guarantee it.” Too bad I didn’t get any photos.

I hear things are even uglier outside the Redneck Riviera/Okanagan. Sicamous, Windermere Valleys should produce good entertainment for your loyal followers. Road trip? Organized bus tour? (by invitation only of course – we don’t want any heathens on board)?
I look forward to a Nemesis road trip with pictures. Haven’t been to the area since 1986 .Took the kids there every summer during the late sixties and thru the seventies. Used to be a desired retirement place for all us old phartz from Alberta. Me thinks there are better places to spend a persons final years. Keep up the good work…it is appreciated.
