“3 of my homes have no mortgage. For my renters I choose nice families who need a break on their rent and charge a nominal amount. Maybe this is why our rent to price ratio is out of whack, too many generous landlords.”

“I’ve never discounted my rent. When a tenant moves I raise rent according to market. I think a stat showing lower rents is a suckers stat since the lower rents are on (likely) shitholes that are tough to rent in any market. A good rental in a good location is always in demand, and always increases.”

Hey, we understand!... this market is driving everybody batty; the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is intending, right? That's why it's called a 'mania'! - vreaa]

Oh great, another internet “millionaire”
Gotcha you liar Rusty.
It’s hard to keep a lie goin, you eventually get caught in your own lies.
Trust me, ask my wife and girlfriend…lol.
Time to shrivel up in a corner and get in a fetal position cause your gonna get f#cked.
Pharmacist with 3 homes…lol
no mortgage. lol
rusty is a troll. He also claims to have mortgages that are completely covered by rents. He is a liar too.
Good one VREAA, hilarious…
Well done VREAA…
By “pharmacist”, he probably means “drug dealer”…
I feel like Elan(Tiger’s wife) and chasing you down the street with a nine iron….LOL
Time to find another alias you troll.
nine irons in vancouver? never..
Good one Pollyanna!
u no feed trollz k?
Rusty is a troll. He’ll say whatever sounds good at the moment. Trolls are some bored lonely mofos.
so what about both statement do you not understand? I’ve never gone backwards with my rentals, and never had to charge less than market for rent. I give a good % discount for leases of 1 yr or more.
VREAA, if you spent as much time working as bitching about the high cost of housing you’d have your home by now.
Hahaha. The troll has been poked and offended. I think it’s his poor command of the English language that may be leading to these apparent contraindications.
He must be soiling his pants these days thinking of how most of his net worth is about to go up in flames, unable to stop the coming tide.
rusty -> Your trying to reconcile the above contradiction with a hand wave is… unbecoming.

We actually believe that ‘rusty’ really is a landlord, that he is essentially who he says he is, and that he believes his own shtick. We don’t think he’s a troll in the true sense of the word, but his style in discussion does often come across as trollish, so it is understandable why many have called him out on that. (Take what he says above, for example: we’ve already told him we can afford the RE we need, but he continues to taunt as though we don’t have a ‘home’. At the very least, he listens very poorly).
Of course we can’t be absolutely sure, but we’d guess that the inconsistency illustrated above is most likely not the result of intentional deceit (lying) but rather is more likely the result of rusty telling himself different stories about himself, at different times: One day he sees himself as a gentle charitable philanthropist; the next a no-nonsense businessman. Use of these stories likely change depending on recent circumstances. For instance, if he caves in during a rent negotiation, he tells himself that’s okay because, after all, he’s a philanthropist… If, on the other hand, he at some level fears he’s been too harsh with a tenant, he tells himself he’s a no-nonsense ass-kicking businessman.
He’s actually neither, but he’ll naturally take to the story that feels best at whatever time. This changeability of self-image is a primitive psychological trick, but, hey, who of us don’t have our ‘stuff’, right?
We’ve called him out above because it is hypocritical to take others to task for minor inconsistencies and then not apply the same standards to oneself.

rusty just watches his cadres in the party and how they deflect criticism.
